🌐 Alaska WiFi
As of April 2022, Alaska airlines offers paid WiFi to its flyers at $8 per flight. They have partnered with Intelsat for high speed satellite internet capabilities. Intelsat has 50 satellites that provide excellent coverage over Alaska’s routes.
Alaska Air claims that their web portal loads 50% fast now with Intelsat, and that connection speeds are 20 times faster than their previous system.
Currently, 80% of their fleet has satellite internet available, with the plan to have 100% fully equipped in 2023. Right now, the Boeing 737 Max 9 and Q400 Turboprop planes do not have this capability.
📺 In-Flight Entertainment

📝 Texting
I use the free texting option the most. Log on to the same network and visit their website to begin using it.
I have noticed that simple text messages go through very easily, but I have had mixed success with videos and large images. Plan accordingly.
It is great to keep in touch with family and friends, especially on long flights.

OK. This is a reward hack, but if you have an Alaska Airlines Visa Card, you will get a 20% savings on in-flight purchases, including Wifi. You have gotta love that!
