IMPORTANT! Delta announced that they are in the process of offering wifi on their domestic flights for free, and international flights should be free by the end of 2024. Stand by for more update.

Delta maintains about 4,000 daily flights to 275 destinations in 50 countries. If you fly through one of their SkyTeam affiliates, this breadth of service expands even more.
While they are headquartered in Atlanta, they maintain large travel hubs in Amsterdam, Heathrow, Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Minneapolis, JFK, LaGuardia, Paris, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Tokyo and Seoul.

🌐 Delta Wifi
As of 2022, there are a few different inflight service providers.

Wondering how the charges will appear on your credit card?
ViaSat will appear as “VIASAT WIFI DELTA AIR 888-649-6711″ or from Delta for the Wi-Fi service.

💲 Delta Wifi Plans and Costs
There are two options for using in-flight wifi. You can pay on a per-flight basis, or use a monthly subscription.
Per Flight Option
We fly Delta from Atlanta to Roatan, Honduras. This was a three hour flight and the cost to purchase internet service was $15. Since we were returning in a week, the cost to use internet would be another cost for that flight as well. Note: I am not really sure why, but the cost on the way to Roatan was $15, but the cost on the way back was $25. So, just look closely before committing.
If you plan on flying more frequently than that, and you need internet access, definitely consider using their monthly subscription plans.

🎥 Other Delta Inflight Entertainment
Messaging is free on the flight. I was able to text my friends from the plane without any problems after connecting. I only used iMessage, but their site notes that WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are also complimentary. Note: Images, video and larger graphics did not work consistently.
Streaming is also available once connected. In 2021, Delta recorded over 16.9M devices connected to their system and you can see why they continue to move forward with investing in this infrastructure.

It is easy to connect and use Delta’s WiFi!
Step One: Connect to DeltaWifi.com as an available network. On an iPhone, this is found on Settings => Wi-Fi.
Step Two: After connecting to the network, visit deltawifi.com and select the internet options you wish to use
💰 How to Save Money WiFi
If you have certain Sprint or T-Mobile accounts, the inflight wifi and streaming was free! We use AT&T, so we could not take advantage of that, but that is a really nice cost savings if you can use it!
❓ FAQs
Delta may provide a refund, but don’t count on it. This is an emerging technology and there really isn’t a lot of governance or consumer protections. That said, give Delta a call and ask if your inflight wifi did not work.
The official download speeds from GoGo is 500-600 kbps, and upload speeds are around 300kbps. It is important to note that the more people using the system on a flight may result in slower speeds.
